Associate Professor Lihai Zhang
Dr Lihai Zhang obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Melbourne, Australia in 2009. Since then, he is conducting teaching and research at School of Engineering, The University of Melbourne and Department of Medicine, Monash University. Currently, he is the Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Applied Mechanics and Australian Journal of Mechanical Engineering. He also the Founding Director of Melbourne-Shenzhen Rehabilitation Research Centre and Executive Committee member of Australasia Investment and Trade Association. The research of Associate Professor Lihai Zhang mainly focuses on investigating the role of mechano-regulation of cells in bone fracture healing and homeostasis of articular cartilage in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson Medical and Epworth hospital. He has published more than 90 technical papers, and been awarded 21 National and International Competitive Grants with a total of around AU$8 million. He has supervised/co-supervised two Post-doctoral Research Fellows, eighteen PhD students (8 completed), and four Master by research students (2 completed).
